A Word from the Builder:
As a seasoned veteran of the remodeling industry with over 30 years of hands-on experience, I have a unique perspective looking into people's homes. For example, I have been truly shocked and disappointed while gutting-out a million dollar home in preparation for remodeling. The layout was off, the framing sloppy and rushed. The finish work looked good from a distance, but on closer examination, had more caulk than nails. On the other hand I have also been amazed with the quality of some projects, many with smaller budgets. The use of high-end materials, the attention to detail and the building techniques far exceed the average standard.
1622 25TH was one of these projects.
This house was built to last. The concrete floors are over 12" thick, the block and brick work is twice the strength of anything I've seen in Florida. The framing lumber is all Douglass Fir, and extremely straight, true, and hard. The presiding engineer on this project (who owns one of the largest firms in the area) was amazed at how "tight" the home looked after we gutted it. He said he had never seen anything like it.
As an "old school" Yankee master carpenter, plumber, and electrician, it was a pleasure doing this remodel.
